Happy Early Birthday to Me

This past weekend, my mom had originally planned to spend Friday night with us but then was unable to come. Saturday morning Emma asked me seriously 100 times if we could, “Go see Near and Poppie!” She even picked up her kitchen phone, pretended to call and talk to them, and then told them we were coming. How could I not give her what she wanted?!

So we loaded up the car on a whim and trekked it to the ranch for the rest of the weekend. Great times!

We mostly played around at the house, rode around on the ranger, let Emma swim in the baby pool, ate a lot, and even celebrated my 28th birthday My birthday has totally snuck up on me this year (WordPress is telling me snuck is not a word…whatever!). So when my mom told me they had a birthday cake and gifts for me, it took me by surprise. Sweet! Thanks for celebrating, Mom!

Emma got in on some serious birthday goodie action. She not only had her own slide of orea mousse cake but she also ate an entire ice cream sanewich…except for part of one of the cookies because it fell on the floor but thankfully that’s the only part that touched the ground

I also received an early birthday gift from Rob-o…an Asian looking cabinety piece of furniture that is the same furniture collection as the entry table and wall decor we have at our house! I’m clearly not showing it well as I’m standing in front of most of it but you get the idea. We aren’t yet sure where we’re going to keep it since we have several options of where it would be useful at this point. But we couldn’t pass it up because my good friend was going to sell it for almost nothing. Thanks Becky and Rob!
