Gender Reveal & 20 Weeks Baby Belly

So here’s the verdict on what gender of baby is residing in this 20+ weeks belly of mine…

Yep, Baby Shelton #2 is a BOY!!!

We are both really excited about having a boy but I honestly am having a hard time wrapping my brain around the fact that it’s really a boy.  I felt so sure it was a girl since I have experienced the same pregnancy symptoms as last time, my doctor’s heart beat prediction, and just intuition.  But the ultrasound was very clear on baby’s anatomy and there’s no question that baby is definitely a boy.

Here are his face and profile…

It was so much fun to see the ultrasound on Monday!  And since my BFF Sara was visiting from home, we had a house full viewing.  Even Emma got to see her baby brother wiggling around!

I think baby was asleep during the first part of the ultrasound because he wasn’t moving much…except for tiny movements when the technician would push hard on my belly…I think it was waking him up.  Eventually he got very busy and gave us a nice show of all of his features.  My 2 favorites were watching him drink and watching his adorable little feet show up on the screen.  I was bummed we didn’t get a good feet photo printed for us.

Thankfully, from all the measurements and everything that the ultrasound technician examined, baby appears to be in good normal health.  Praise Jesus!

I’m now feeling even more and stronger baby movement in my belly on a regular basis but particularly right after meals.  It’s so much fun!  My nausea is finally gone (as long as I stay on top of frequent meals) and I’m especially thankful that the super annoying daily migraines have ceased.  So pretty much, I’m feeling great!

As for the baby’s name…we’ve had the name Henry Robert picked out for a year or more but Rob’s had some doubts.  However, it’s still in the running and I’ll be surprised if it ends up something else ;)

Yay for a baby boy!
